The Boston Fire Department reportsa four-alarm fire at 20 Irma St. in Dorchester spread to two adjacent buildings at 16 and 24 Irma St.

Firefighters responded around 2:30 p.m.

The department reports three firefighters were injured. Some 30 people were made homeless.

Two pet birds were rescued.

At least 4 news helicopters were coving this. I couldn't see the smoke from my porch off of Morton Street but the copters were basically circling over my house for each pass.
