One arrested for Mattapan Square quintuple shooting

Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on attempted-murder and other charges for his alleged role in post-July Fourth shootings at River Street and Edgewater Drive in Mattapan Square that sent five to the hospital.

Traequon Duncan, 26, was charged with assault to murder with a firearm for that shooting as well as assault to murder on a separate warrant out of Suffolk Superior Court and illegal-firearms charges out of Dorchester Municipal Court, police say.

Police say officers arrested Duncan following a traffic stop of the car around 11 p.m. on Saturday at Harvard and Wales streets in Dorchester. Another passenger in the car, Damarius Bultmer, 23, was also arrested, for the gun loaded with six bullets they say he had with him.

Police add officers were looking specifically for Duncan when they stopped the car he was in for having excessive tinting.

Immediately after the River Street shootings, police arrested three men they said were trying to flee the scene with loaded guns. However, they were charged with illegal possession of a firearm, not for the shootings themselves.
