Roxbury man admits he stabbed his wife to death in 2019, gets life

Valdir Chaves, 47, today admitted in court that he fatally stabbed his wife, Dora Chaves, in their home on Clarence Street in Roxbury, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Suffolk Superior Court Judge Anthony Campo sentenced Chaves to life on a count of second-degree murder, with a possibility of parole at 20 years, the DA's office says.
