George Washington through a Public Garden entrance

Good stuff! But why couldn't the photographer get to the statue and why were the gates closed?

Entrance to the Garden is on either side of that gate. https://maps.app.goo.gl/tSp94z5Yh1HnJv4Z6

There is stuff going on around the statue. The other gate is open and all the little side entrances are open. This one gate was closed (and of course I went over just for that photo with a particular angle at sunset in mind haha.)

I will say though the garden is much nicer if it's spring/summer/fall unless it's snowing. Without all the water and green it's not quite as lovely.

Thank you! I generally go into something with one shot in mind but when life hands you lemons you make lemonade and mix it with some gin and champagne.

Will prosecco do?

Coming down? I’m deeply offended.

I once saw a peregrine falcon perched on that statue, on George Washington's head.
