Man charged with animal cruelty for three dead dogs in the back of a U-Haul

A man was ordered held in lieu of $2,500 bail at his arraignment today for the three dead dogs police found inside a U-Haul truck at 69 Edgewater Dr. in Mattapan around 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

William Cobb, 33, was arrested by Boston and State Police gang-unit officers in Weymouth early this afternoon, Boston Police report.

He was arraigned in Dorchester Municipal Court on one count of felony animal cruelty, court records show.

WFXT reports police found the bloated bodies of three medium-sized dogs after a nearby resident called 911 to complain about the smell.
