Keolis pairs some video of celebrating Celts players with this advisory for Championship Duck Boat Day, i.e., Friday:

We'll be operating on a weekday schedule with service changes. Please avoid traveling into the city on this day!

The MBTA needs to be run (and funded, for once since they changed to forward funding) to be able to operate to get people to work and other obligations even if there is a big event happening. The state for years has treated the T as a neat "other" that some people use instead of an integral part of our infrastructure and economy. Bakers fiscal management control board was a political entity that did very little to improve the T (many would argue it helped do significant damage) but was good for his PR. The Globe is finally now saying his 1 billion dollar new fare technology was maybe not a great idea, especially since NYC was able to do the same on a much larger scale for much less. It would have been nice if the Globe had taken a critical eye at him instead of just telling us what a popular governor, policy wonk, tall, aw shucks guy he was. But for billionaires like the globes owner, people like Baker are great.

"to get people to work and other obligations even if there is a big event happening."

Well, wait a minute - what about ESPECIALLY if there is a big event happening, particularly perhaps using the T to actually get to the event?

I mean, what is public transit for if it's not there to get people to things like big events as well as everyday life things like work? Shouldn't there really be some sort of big ad blitz to "get to Championship Duck Boat Day with the MBTA?" You'd think they'd want to take advantage of that, right?

on Tuesday afternoon stated Celtics Championship Parade on Friday Consider if travel can be avoided.

That’s the sort of thing I’d expect to hear before a severe weather event, and not a celebration of a sports team’s win.
