Our own Ron Newman took in the BSO's free Concert for the City, which featured Mayor Wu performing a piano solo of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." Before the main event, the Pops Gospel Choir performed.
But I felt it would be disruptive to try making one, despite my sitting in the fifth row. Even the still shots, I tried to take as quickly as possible.
When I made my video of the Gospel Choir, I was in a small room, against the back wall, so not in anyone else's way.
Great performance, Mayor Wu.
For all the haters, please don't go banging on the plastic buckets outside of her home in the wee hours of the morning. Have some respect. The woman is pregnant.

and not to take anything away from her—in fact, it speaks to her credit that it’s customary for soloists to perform from memory. clearly, she is an accomplished pianist.

Also, she appeared to do this from memory, not sheet music

I didn't see any sheet music on the piano, nor any electronic equivalent. The Pops players used sheet music, but not Wu.

It humanizes a person in a way that being a politician doesn't always do.
