Walking the picket line outside the Copley Plaza

Michael Burstein walked by the Fairmount Copley Plaza this evening and stopped for a moment to watch the strikers of Unite Here Local 26 in action - as part of a nationwide strike over wages, benefits and working conditions.

Locally, workers went out at four hotels - the Copley Plaza, the Hilton Park Plaza, the Hilton Logan Airport and the Hilton-Hampton Inn Boston Seaport - but say the strike could spread to other hotels.

WCVB reports that because of the strike, the the Greater Boston Labor Council is moving its annual Labor day breakfast from the Park Plaza to the park in front of the hotel.
