Eric Bender was on hand today for Save the Harbor/Save the Bay's annual Shamrock Splash into the frigid waters off Constitution Beach in East Boston, with air temperatures in the 20s and a stiff breeze adding to the brr factor.
He adds organizers of the event, which raises money for the group's programs, did make a bit of a concession to the conditions, and made sure to speed things up, including the awards for best costumes and group photos.
