A pissed off citizen files a complaint that Comcast has plastered every last square inch of vertical surface in Cleveland Circle with ads:

Comcast has posted flyers on trees, electrical boxes, my door, the cars. We get it. Comcast sells cable. This has to be littering. I asked them to stop and they told me to "duck" off. The rule is "post no bills".

A man who accused the woman behind him in line at the Cleveland Circle Dunkin' Donuts of stealing his wallet was arrested after the woman and witnesses said he went beyond accusing her and and started frisking her. Read more.

The MWRA is looking at steps to prevent a recurrence of the recent blue-green-algae infestation in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir that include treating the water with alum, which basically prevents the organisms from obtaining the phosphorus they need, and figuring out what to do about Canada geese, which that poop out the stuff like nobody's business. The co-owner of what was initially billed as a family-friendly pizza place on Chestnut Hill Avenue now says he is spending every night at the front door, turning away 200 to 250 underage BC students trying to take advantage of his restaurant's beer and wine license. Read more.

Algae-filled Chestnut Hill Reservoir

Plunkett Prime went for a walk around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir today, reports:

The algae in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir is so bad that ducks leave a wake behind them and dead fish are floating everywhere.

The MWRA only uses the reservoir in emergencies.

The Boston Licensing Board has issued a one-day license suspension for Agoros Bar and Grill on Chesnut Hill Avenue over an incident on Jan. 14 in which a Boston College student working as a bartender sold beers to two underage BC students without even asking for their IDs. Read more.
