Boston shark attack

Charles Swift is currently fourth on the Google results page for Boston shark attack. But Jay Fitzgerald, who started Boston Shark Week, is feeling left out, since he's only seventh on the results page for "Boston Shark Attack." As you might expect, Fitzgerald's shark coverage was totally not inspired by Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, but instead by a Globe story that reported the startling news that great white sharks attack and eat other animals.

Update: Looks like eeka is getting in on shark attack action, with a meta-post about posts about shark attacks.

Try googling ""Boston shark attack"" in quotes. Charles Swift didn't actually use that exact text thread. Woohoo!

And of course, if you google "Boston shark attack smoot" without quotes... ;o)

Just checked Boston shark attack (no quotation marks) and Hub Blog is now number one with a bullet. I only hope Jay realizes it's all downhill from here.

Hmm, now when I do it without quotes, Jay is first and Charles and I have actually disappeared from the first 30 hits. Weird.

And when I do it, I'm seventh, Jay is first, and Eeka can't be found. Google has yet to digest my new blog post however:

In any case, brave kid!

I am impressed by how quickly Google is changing its Boston shark attack rankings.

Right now, UH is first, I'm second, Hub Blog is third, and poor Charles is 8th.
