Coyotes now wandering Brookline north of Rte. 9

I lived in Brookline for ten years.
In 2005 I saw a coyote at least three times.
NO ONE believed me. Not police, not animal
control, not neighbors.
I took pictures of the tracks, tried to
stay up some nights to get video.
A girlfriend and I saw the coyote twice.
Not one person would believe me that it existed.
It was out mostly at around 2-4...I used to work late
and walk home at that time. (The fact that the
police used to stop me and ask what I was doing
is another thing entirely. I'm walking home...really?)
I hope the coyote eats a few Brookline
residents who wouldn't believe when it
probably didn't have pups...

1 - Do not keep a roadrunner as a pet.

2 - If you see a big delivery truck marked "ACME" coming down your street, run out into the road and paint your street so that it makes a left turn into a big railroad tunnel which you also have painted on a handy wall. Watch out that you don't get run over by the inevitable train that will exit the new tunnel!

3 - If all else fails, move to a neighborhood with a sheer cliff. The coyote problem will eradicate itself, given time.

Make sure you keep handy a science book that explains how gravity works. Gravity doesn't tend to affect coyotes until they learn of its existence.

A grey fox was recently spotted in my parent's back yard on Greenough Street. There used to be a family of red foxes back there too, and we're pretty sure a neighbor called in a coyote sighting after seeing one of these foxes. I wonder how often people mistake a fox for a coyote?

... with the wild turkeys I've seen walking down Beacon Street. When I called animal control one time about a turkey, I was told, "Yeah, that happens." Good to know.
