Rozzie loses pioneering bistro; Hyde Park loses top hat

NuVo, which started out as Gusto back when Roslindale was a culinary wasteland (you know, like 1999), has closed. Could this be where Roslindale's rumored Ethiopian restaurant goes in? In the meantime, the Birch Street Bistro, Sophia's Grotto and Geoffrey's will continue to hold up the bistro fort.

Me Gusto Gusto
I sure miss the original Gusto, not that hamburger joke that followed abusing that name. It brought great food to Dapper O'Neil short-order land. You quite literally could touch elbows with those at neighboring tables, but it was worth that for the food service and constantly changing dishes and wines. Such an oasis should not be short lived.

That place has been an eyesore for years. I heard the owner even hates Hyde Park. Now lets hope something decent opens there. If we get another hair salon I'll move! When the hell is CF Donovan's going to open?! They built the Cheesecake Factory in Braintree in a fraction of the time.
