Love Joe Shortsleeve work...
...but this clip is what I will remember him for the most
(Its 35 seconds in)
What's the deal with his name
Is "Shortsleeve" his real last name? If so, how does that happen?
The 2nd Amendment, Obviously
The guy believes in the right to bare arms.
Ouch!
Walked right into that one...
I guess it's like some people
I guess it's like some people have the surname of Drinkwater.
Anyhow Joe Shortsleeve's been around for quite awhile. IIRC he was around in the early days of WLVI's late night news before the merged with channel 7 news.
How did John Hancock get his name?
Just askin'
It is
It is his real last name.
The only reason I know this is.. I think when he was exiting the 11pm anchor's chair a few years ago, they did a review of clips and at the end he said something about people asking if Shortsleeve was really his last name, and yes it is. He said it is an old Irish last name.
Sad to see him go, but I'm sure another local station will snatch him up (WCVB or NECN anyone?) because of his good journalist style.
Also sad to see Sera go.
Sad to see them go
I would watch channel 4 for D. Wade, and Robie. As for Sera Congi, the most beautiful news woman in Boston hands. I would watch her segment and she always put a smile on my face with her excellent reporting and beautiful smile, and when she was done I changed the channel to Fox. It is WBZ's loss and 5,7 or 25's gain for sure. Hurry back Sera.
C'est Francais, non?
**Is "Shortsleeve" his real last name? If so, how does that happen?**
There is a common French Canadians last name: "Courtemarche"...which roughly translates as "short sleeve".
I am going to guess he has some French Canadian roots somewhere...
