This is so wrong!
My Condolences to the family
Too many guns
bullets flying
Shots fired
dying and crying
So many afraid to walk the streets
prisoners in their own homes
Too many guns
in the wrong hands
Neighborhoods and schools turned into
battle lands
What do we do?
What do we say?
Where is hope for
just one day?
Just one day
without bad news
Just one day
with no one dying
Just one day
with no one crying
over a body
lifeless and still
Death by gunfire
such a bitter pill
Too many guns....
You get a gold star.
And an "S" on your report card,
Dead Milkmen with something similar
Would I be amused
Would you be impressed
That I had the power
To put a hole into your chest?
When the kids are crying
And the welfare check's been spent
Would I rob a liquor store
To get some money for the rent?
If I had a gun
Would I start smoking Marlboros?
Would I stop smoking Kents?
Would I gain some new respect?
Would I gain some confidence?
Would I suddenly go crazy
And shoot my family?
And see myself years later
On some crime show on TV
If I had a gun
Would I wear it in a holster?
Would I keep it concealed?
Would I put it on the table
Every time that I'm misdealed?
When I hear a nearby gunshot
When I'm up at night alone
Would I feel a little safer
Here in my urban home?
If I had a gun
Boston are you
paying attention? 16. How is this okay? We'd rather bitch about the Red Sox or the weather but kids keep dying. We are jaded and never shocked at this madness.
Who is bitching about the Red
Who is bitching about the Red Sox? All I've seen with regards to the teen shot on the bike was someone bitching about medical weed not being legal. (Yes, it's evil and cold-hearted but true -- see an earlier post about the shooting.) There are PLENTY of us, on this board at least, who are pissed off that kids are getting shot on our streets. Personally, I may be jaded, but I'm still horrified by it.
I hope
I hope this will be investigated, and that will help avoid other killings.
