Alleged one-man armory arrested at Nantasket Beach

Man's alleged weapons stash.

State Police report arresting on Abington man on charges he was loaded for bear while drinking on Nantasket Beach and not treating his dog very well. And that was before officers looked in his car.

State Police report Paul Martell, 55, was packing "a Walther PPK/S handgun, a fully loaded magazine, and a large folding knife" when a trooper and Hull officers arrested him yesterday afternoon.

They then located additional knives of various sizes, a hatchet, a dagger, and a double sided machete in his vehicle.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon and illegal consumption of alcohol on DCR property, State Police say. Animal Control took his dog.

Innocent, etc.

are about to make some terrible, terrible decisions.

I wonder if anyone can offer an informed opinion: what is the point of owning nine different small folding knives? Is it like ball-point pens, i.e., you keep misplacing one, so you buy another, then find the old ones, so you end up with a drawer full of them?

They literally sell those cheap knives in like packs of a dozen or more. The sales language is hilarious - they always pretend that you need a dozen because you resell them at flea markets or because they will appreciate so much in value that you need to have more than one, heh.

don't sharpen very well, nor do they hold an edge all that long relatively speaking. if you just want some knives for cutting whatever and dont want to care about the consequences it will have on the blade, they're good. i buy them myself- albeit, one at a time, as needed.

The Fireball is funny enough, but then you've got Twisted Tea as well. And is that a vape pen? What a champ. Hope his dog finds a better home.

Actually looks like a globe attachment for a vape. They're used for smoking hash oil. Not quite as innocent as a vape pen.

Unlawful possession of a firearm happens. Mall ninja knife collection, whatever. The cuffs really stand out as more troubling. Makes you wonder if he is one of those impersonators with bad intentions who tries to approach people as the police.

A lot of people own handcuffs these days, thanks to 50 Shades of Gray.

I was expecting "a tourist from Tennessee" or something. Not that people in MA can't be tacky or drink swill, but they have a better chance of understanding the laws.
