Headless chickens at entrance to Forest Hills Cemetery
By adamg on Wed, 11/02/2016 - 9:35pm
Sherry Eskin reports she and her kids were walking by Forest Hills Cemetery on Walk Hill Street around 4 p.m. when she spotted two chickens without heads by the cemetery entrance.
We told the cemetery security guard, who said he hadn't seen dead chickens in the cemetery in six or seven years.
She forwarded a photo of the fowl deed, but, well, use your imagination.

But most of the meat is in the body. Why just eat the heads?
Santaria?
Santaria? Day of the Dead stuff? It's especially creepy that the security had seen them before at all.
Two different things
SanterĂa is from the Caribbean and Day of the Dead is Mexican.
I can't speak to SanterĂa but I can tell you that, unless it's some crazy family's wacky ritual, animal sacrifice has nothing to do with the Day of the Dead.
Wow.
It's been at least ten years since I saw them in Franklin Park. There was some kind of trough or fountain where they used to turn up.

It's Santeria
common practice in Santeria. Headless fowl often found at railroad crossings too.

Why did the chicken lose its head....?
