Boston firefighters called to douse a blaze at 1129 Dorchester Ave. this afternoon made an unusual rescue: Two iguanas.

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters called to the apartment building about a block south of Savin Hill Avenue around 1 p.m. found smoke from a second-floor unit - and two iguanas.

Firefighters put out the fire, possibly of electrical origin, and gave the reptiles to a neighbor for safekeeping until their owner could come and pick them up.
