These poles are relatively recent; the sidewalks were poured over the past two summers as part of the Arsenal St. buildup.

I suspect that the poles and sidewalks will have to be replaced for the whole stretch between School and Irving.

I'm sure it's because they were installed cheaply, as all new development is done cheaply. Oy.

The 'real' power is already buried - there's a substation / transformer farm on the other side of Irving St. These poles are largely cable TV and local power drops to customers along Arsenal.

Just ordered delivery from our local Chinese place here in Watertown. Cancel the Red Cross.

Guess we (and the Chinese place) are in a sweet spot that was unaffected, Thank God.
