Massport runs a couple parks in East Boston, which has a large population of immigrants from the sorts of places the current administration doesn't want to let into the country because Reasons. So you'd think Massport might have thought twice about sending out one of its new cruisers, which hadn't yet had its complete paint scheme applied, to the Bremen Street park and then parking it next to the splash pad. As JK discovered this evening, though, you'd think wrong.

Massport police protect the Bremen Street Park from Porter Street Bridge to day sq the entire length of that portion of the Greenway. From the porter street bridge all the way to Marginal street portion of the park it’s Boston police jurisdiction. As for ice written on side of police cruiser seems to me it was purposely placed there, bias against Hispanic immigrants, I wouldn’t doubt if people will start to protest against this matter in the up coming days and would want the head of massport to step down.

Why would they use taxpayers' money to "deliberately" but "ICE" on the side of the vehicles?
It seems to you?!

What constitutes your assumption to have any validity? Because "it seems..."? I mean, it seems to me you're quite the s**t-stirring conspiracy theorist, but that doesn't mean I'm right.

That they protect Massport properties.
The more complex part is that at least the airport is protected by the State Police, and the State Police is very jealous about patrolling Massport territory in the South Boston waterfront. This leads to the question of why doesn't the State Police patrol everything rather than having duplication of effort.

Its not a wacky as when I first moved here about 30 years ago- recall there were also the Metro cops for the parks, Boston school & BHA police among others- plus the various school cops- felt like there were general about 8-10 different iterations of squad cars in a given area back then

The MDC/Metro Police have been rebranded as part of the State Police, but it's still a separate operation. For example, the people based at the Brighton barracks don't patrol 93 or the Pike.
Do the school and BHA police not exist any more? The Municipal Police still protect buildings like City Hall.

Definitely an accident and definitely done on purpose. It ain't paint. It's a graphic, applied like a decal. They come in kits, specifically for the vehicle.
My guess is that the door suffered some type of damage and had to be replaced or repainted and they don't have that door graphic, or the company that did the job had to order it.
You put the vehicle in service and wait for the part.
Or just blame Trump.

ICE agents are working at Airport station? Are they stopping fare jumpers and checking for immigration status and running warrant checks on poor people who can't afford to pay the fare?

ICE has extraordinary powers within 200 miles of a national border. These are powers you wouldn't like if you are a fan of your constitutional rights. The coasts are national borders.

I've been on the Lake Shore Limited when ICE has run check around Buffalo. And I will note that technically one is not in Buffalo while on the train, but in a southern suburb of the city, or away from the border if you will.

It's 100 miles. But that's still plenty of land, which allows them to harass people driving home from the White Mountains, or people taking the bus from NYC to Rochester.
