Adam Castiglioni took some photos of an old Chesapeake & Ohio passenger car that was parked at South Station today.
And I bet that coach is in better condition than many of the CR coaches.
Ya it is, its a private car with a lounge, bedroom and formal dinning room.
These coaches are quite luxurious.

That's really cool, like a 'land cruise.' Of course, it's about $1,000 per guest per day....
But getting more and more difficult to ride apparently - some of my train buddies said there are fewer and fewer trains that will allow these cars to connect to their consists. Probably a combination of factors - cost, liability and fewer and fewer Amtrak trains to connect to.
I haven't heard about any Amtrak cuts in the last few years.
And not sure they are allowing the private cars to connect to as many trains. rumors of liability issues and more - but who knows.
Again - heard it through the trainvine.
