Construction workers watch Patriots go by

Construction workers took a break from rehabbing Emerson College's Little Building to watch the Patriots make the turn from Boylston Street onto Tremont Street.

Just one of those "something is there" icons.

Are the libraries also overrun with Patriots crowds? Feh. Whatever happened to librarians saying "shhh"?

There are more Pats fans coming into the new wing. I'm upstairs and you can tell when a fresh crop has just come in because they all feel the need to go "Ohhhhhh!" (like a chant, not a gasp of surprise at this marvel of learning that is, as they say, free to all). BPL staff have thoughtfully put out two large handmade signs pointing them to the basement restrooms.

there'd be a GIANT SCREEN in the courtyard showing the parade, with LOTS OF PEOPLE surrounding it.

I'm glad to see there's still one quiet place downtown today.

I don't know how they got there, but plenty of people were standing on it.

If you blow up this photo and look towards the right, you may see them.

The theme of today's parade seemed to be "poor parenting choices" and "Bud Light drinkers love to litter".

Yeah, there were people drinking adult beverages, some out of tiny plastic bottles. And it would not have been hard to get a contact high. And yeah, some guy felt like screaming "Fuck LA!" right in my face and I was like "Dude, what? This is a Sox hat I'm wearing."

So what? There were hundreds of thousands of people having a good time, most of them not breaking even the most minor of laws.

I mean, if you want to talk about the problems on commuter rail, the inconveniences to people just trying to get to work, the cost of the whole thing, sure, go right ahead. But please just stay inside your cave up on Mt. Crumpett if all you want to do is complain about lots of people having a good time on a spring-like day.

Hey, traditions are important. I was thinking of posting a satirical response to this article, modeled on the killjoys who always complain about HONK! or PorchFest or whatever -- you know: "LOOK AT THESE FREAKS THEY'RE ENJOYING THEMSELVES IN PUBLIC" -- but Kino beat me to it. Except, I guess, for the satire part.

I'm all for having a good time. I don't care about public drinking. America should loosen up and have more of it. I'm just not a fan of people coming into Boston and leaving all their trash everywhere.

But Bostonians litter, too.

Actually, I thought it was a very mellow crowd, I saw (and smelled) more weed being consumed than beer. A World Class City can have a little fun once in a while and celebrate their sportsball champions.

Pot smoke is horrible for people with asthma. Chew, baby, chew.

Every time people comment here with "the weed smoke was XYZ" I am always like "I didn't smell it or barely smelled it." I was there today and I think I smelled it lightly once.

Why am I always in the wrong place? lol.

is very tame compared to soccer wins in the UK, Europe, South America. And there's an obvious bias and bigotry towards 'lower class' suburban white youth and those scary construction workers.

Don't forget the importance of having plenty of "Paht-a-Pahtties" along the route.

After the parade are not Boston residents?

...that despite those suburban idiots fighting, who should all be sterilized with a cinder block so they can't make more suburban idiots, that once again - I really admire the metal work on that building.
