Ad astra per credit-card fraud

Wanted for credit-card fraud - man in a NASA shirt

Dedham Police are looking for this guy in connection with the nearly $10,000 in charges they say he rang up on somebody else's credit card in stores in Dedham, the Fenway and Braintree, all on Feb. 1.

In a busy shopping day, he hit the Subway and Best Buy in Dedham, the Target and a 7-Eleven in the Fenway and Guitar Center in Braintree.

If the space cowboy looks familiar, contact Det. James Quigley at 781-751-9313.

I don't want a local news site that cyberbullies suspects.

I'm starting to see the NASA gear more and more lately. Has there been a sudden upswing in the interest of city kids in space exploration? What am I missing?

You can get all sorts of NASA stuff at Target. The why part of it I cannot explain. Popular culture and whatnot.

He spent $10,000 in a day? Bank of America limits me to $7,000, and my credit score is in the 760s. Also, I check my transactions at least once daily, and I get alerted to possible fraud.

From whom did he steal a credit card? Who among us can spend $10,000 in a day on a credit card? For whom is that such a typical practice, we don't hear about it until 13 days later when it happens via theft?

Which is sort of a place for police to seek help on suspects they haven't been able to track down themselves, so it's not surprising it sometimes takes awhile for reports to show up there.

As for the credit-card limits, dunno, maybe some people just have really good credit ratings ...

Annual income also matters.

My credit rating is 780 and I'm allowed to spend like 30,000 on just one of my cards.

That is the CREDIT limit not the spend limit.

Often card will let you spend more than will let you carry as a Ballance. Also he may have you know stolen a few credit cards.
