Man in South Boston car crash pulled gun on other driver, but stowed it in his fanny pack before officers arrived, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man they say approached the driver of another car with whom he had just crashed and displayed a handgun in a threatening manner, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say officers responding to a report of a man with a gun on Dorchester Avenue near the intersection with West 5th and A streets found Danh Nguyen, 29, standing near one of two cars that had obviously just collided.

Due to the nature of the call, officers immediately conducted a pat-frisked and recovered an unloaded 9mm Sig Sauer P320 Pistol inside of a fanny pack, along with two fully loaded ten round magazines.

After further investigation it was revealed that after the motor vehicle accident and before police arrival, Mr. Nguyen was observed exiting his motor vehicle with the Sig Sauer Pistol in his hand as he approached the driver's side window of the victim’s motor vehicle.

Nguyen was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.

It appears intense situation was a result of motor vehicle accident.

Please be careful of road rage individuals including yourselves. Within a year's time I know at least 3 probably more people were killed here Massachusetts. A road-rage incident leading to murder took place in Dorchester I think the other place somewhere north of Boston and there were a couple of others. Please calm down.

Can people share what techniques do they do to reduce stress and tension when you're driving?

Here are my recommendations. Just leave way early to your next destination. Keep your distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Use your breathing techniques. Drink water. Listen to calm music. Do not grip your steering wheel so tight let go. Accept the fact that you're powerless Against Time. It is what it is.
