Year has a crashing end for one motorist in West Roxbury
By adamg on Wed, 01/01/2020 - 1:43pm
Tom the roving UHub photographer came upon this scene around 2:30 p.m. yesterday on Centre Street, between Northdale Road and where it splits off from Grove Street near the quarry in West Roxbury. He reports it looks like the driver hit one parked car, which then hit the one in front of it. The driver was able to get out on her own and onto a stretcher, he adds.

Area residents* claim traffic calming measures are unneeded and unwelcome.
* vocal minority, like that real estate guy who I think posted on here for a while under an alias?
Please join me in always driving 25 on Centre St. south of Holy Name. Together, we can make a difference (and get tailgated.)
Wrong end of Centre
This isn't the stretch in question; it's the relatively little traveled end that veers off near the quarry.
Kudos
Didn’t see this reply until I posted mine. You hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the clarification. Love the page, you do a great service to Boston with your reporting!
There was at least one death in that area
I seem to recall that a car crashed into a snowplow in the stretch between the quarry and Washington St maybe 10 years ago. At that time there was a big push to slow traffic in that area.
1995 Death
In 1995, Chris Dyson, for whom the street hockey rink at Fallon Field is named, was killed in a car accident on a stretch of Centre street close to that spot. A littler further up the way, just passed Stimson Street. Chris was 20 at the time.
And a pedestrian
A pedestrian was hit crossing the street a couple of blocks down from there a year or two ago, and later died of his injuries.
Lucky for them the crash
Lucky for them the crash happened right next to an ambulance!
that ambulance?
in the bike lane.
If you're a parked car...
you've gotta understand, cars are going to hit you.
oh no
I hope their phone didn't break when they dropped it
