Police hunt two for attack on MBTA worker at Fields Corner

Red Line attackers sought

Transit Police report they are looking for a pair who left a T worker with "a serious facial injury" in an attack around 5:50 p.m. on New Year's Day at the Fields Corner T station.

If they look familiar, contact detectives at 617-222-1050 or send an anonymous tip to 873873.

Anonymous? I've never understood how a tip to the police could truly be "anonymous" -- the police could easily trace a phone call, text, or email if they wanted to.

Electronic media isn't the only way to send a message. Get your head out of your smartphone

Besides, if it were that easy, they'd likely be chasing down online criminals left and right instead identifyng whistle-blowers reporting names of criminal suspects.

The Transit police have identified the two juveniles not sure if they are going to arrest them or have a mediation session and release them.

At the very least, they should be banned from the transit system. Let their parents drive them around or escort them to school. Maybe they will pay more attention to them.
