Robber demands $20 from Blue Hill Avenue store clerk, doesn't get it, so he stabs the clerk, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Mattapan man on charges he stabbed a clerk at the Fernandez Cousins convenience store, 1150 Blue Hill Ave. in Dorchester on Friday afternoon.

Police say Davon Hussey, 18, walked into the store shortly before 2:50 p.m. on Friday and demanded the clerk give him $20.

He would not give the suspect the money, so the suspect then asked the victim for the $20.00, to which the victim also refused. At this time, the suspect took out a box cutter, reached over the counter and stabbed the victim. The suspect then fled the store.

Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening. A couple of hours later, police say, a B-3 detective spotted a man matching the description of the suspect less than a half mile away, on Blue Hill Avenue near Hosmer Street. The sergeant got out of his cruiser to talk to the guy, who started running, but he was unable to outrun or outfight the additional officers summoned by radio, police say.

Hussey was charged with attempted armed robbery, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest, police say.

Innocent, etc.
