Major pita crime in Roslindale

Pita scattered on cars in Roslindale

Some vandals up early this morning decided it would be fun to steal the pita that Bob's Pita Market on Washington Street in Roslindale Square gets delivered overnight and then toss the bread all over the area.

Conor Davies woke up this morning to find pitas tossed everywhere along Florence Street down by the Flaherty Pool in Roslindale this morning.

Somebody else filed a 311 report about "a large number of pita bread" in the area.

In the Keep Roslindale Quirky Facebook group, somebody on Lindall Street, closer to Roslindale Square, reported 14 bags of pita on her car. Another resident spotted the crates the pita comes in in the yard at the Sumner School on Basile Street.

They should be jailed, declared guilty, re-jailed, and then deported.

Oh wait, I forgot to log out.

All that stuff, like the thing with the ketchup and the butter and the delivery van, was actually my evil twin zyx. I was too busy studying the Bible, with occasional breaks to go out and help old ladies across the street.

And donuts. And had shaving cream fights in supermarkets.

No bullet holes, no grand theft, no bodily harm.

Kids thankfully just being kids.

It’s a pity we can’t trust our local society to leave unattended deliveries alone.

i think the police should go easy on the culprits provided they're not repeat offenders.

Humus more of this will happen? So much fa’ lawful behavior.
The criminals should look in the mirror and say, “Hallomi, it’s me. When will I grow up ?”

The restaurant owners in this
Area should pita their money together and shou-arma-themselves

perhaps a wealthy doner can make things right.

If this were to happen in Brookline with some challah outside of Kupels we'd be hearing about this being a hate crime. How do we know this isnt the case here, given the current political discourse? Seems like we should investigate it as such.

Yeah, but then 30 seconds later we'd all google the definition of hate crime and feel embarrassed that we ever said such a thing in writing about a hypothetical situation we made up in our imagination, and we'd be right back where we started.

It's only a very small local business owner trying to keep his head above water - who cares? Roslindale residents can always go to Whole Corporation to get their pita bread.

... is just fodder for lots of yuks by all sorts of purported grownups here.

Bless them bc that is the best pita there is anywhere. They literally perform a public service. I don’t know what I would do without them. I cherish that business.

... the pita they used to bake themselves at their old location.

Isn't it a pita?
Isn't it a shame?
How we cover others' vehicles
Like an exploding Au Bon Pain?
And how we don't even falafel for tortillas
Left out in the rain.
Isn't it a pita?

Ben's is great! I rarely make it there because it's a trek but I and hopefully many of us will support them in the coming weeks.

And look, no dripping — the pita pocket prevents it from dripping!
