Two people with a gun try to get into City Hall, but are turned away by a municipal guard
Around noon, a man with a gun dressed all in yellow and a woman tried to get into the Congress Street side of City Hall, but were turned away by a Municipal Protective Services guard even after the man waved the gun at him.
The pair were last spotted walking down Congress towards State Street.
The woman may have initially had the gun in a backpack, but gave it to the man, who put it in his waistband. At the security checkpoint, he at first simply showed the guard his waist, but then took out the gun and brandished it at him. However, the guard stood firm and the two walked away.
The woman was described as Black, dressed in a black top with a gray skirt, black leggings and white and black sneakers. The man was described as Black or Hispanic with a light beard and dressed in a yellow sweatshirt with white writing on it and yellow pants.
Police are continuing to investigate.

At least the City Hall is
At least the City Hall is safe.
Geez! Who hurt you?
If you'd ever been in Boston City Hall you would know City Hall security is unarmed. That guard stared the bad guys down and won. Try to be happy there wasn't a mass shooting like elsewhere in America every day.
City Hall security is unarmed
I'm genuinely surprised given that the City Hall is so close to North End.
Idiot troll is an idiot
Grow up.
And yet
And yet you continue to respond. You’re right - it’s a troll account, but you and swirls continue to feed it. Maybe try ignoring this poster and they’ll go away?
I do feel like it would nice
I do feel like it would nice if people would "YBT HAND" sometimes.
If that was going to work...
...don't you think it would have by now, auntie?

Evict me, please. I'm not paying any rent for that derelict space in your head, regardless of how spacious it is.
Textbook smart
Is the first thing that comes to mind
No photo available?
I'd expect there to be a security camera at the entrance.
Security cameras at the entrance...
Uh, guys. That's the _Boston_ City Hall.
Even finding the entrance is near impossible.
Photo?
City Hall has any number of cameras, but police didn't release photos.
I thought the Municipal
I thought the Municipal Protective Services officers had powers of arrest? Couldn’t a few of them have tackled them and put them in cuffs? It seems odd they were allowed to walk away.
Is our America
... great again yet?
Only after we all jump in and
Only after we all jump in and start waving our guns around.
Just another day on the MBTA...
Or City Hall, or McDonald's or...
Is it illegal
to carry a firearm into City Hall? Even if you’re licensed? The whole story sounds suspect.
Settle down
This isn't Texas.
I do wonder what the story is
I do wonder what the story is here ...
It seems like the thought process was something like:
"Lets go to city hall. But I have a gun in my backpack. Its cool, just give it to me and will show it to the guard and he will let us in."
don't the City Hall entrances have a panic button?
A guy waives a gun and is simply turned away onto the street? WTF
