Assault and battery with a dangerous Wiffle bat
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he whacked a clerk at a convenience store with a plastic bat Saturday evening.
The alleged clean-up hitter bought a drink and a Wiffle bat around 6:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven, 8 Park Plaza, then took a cut at the clerk, police say:
... The suspect, Kevin Crowe, 33, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon after the victim was observed to have a small bump on his head.
Also, police say, a South Boston man attempted to prove the old saying, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" by attempting to break into a car on O Street in South Boston after passersby stopped him from breaking into a car on 2nd and N streets shortly before 7 p.m., Saturday. John M. Wardynski, Jr., 46, of South Boston, then allegedly struck out for good when police arrived and charged him with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, malicious destruction of property, possession of burglarious tools, attempted auto theft and resisting arrest.
