Five arrested in closing-time melee at Theater District club

Boston Police report arresting two Bostonians and three Randolph residents in a donnybrook that just would not stop around 2 a.m. on Sunday at Club Venu, 100 Warrenton St..

Police report that club security managed to break up a fight but that when they and a detail officer were escorting one of the alleged pugilists out, general mayhem erupted and the detail officer, fearing for his and their safety, called for backup. As the reinforcements were clearing things up front, a new fight broke out inside the club, police say. A one-man punch-throwing flying wedge was arrested, which led to one of his friends following police outside and yelling at them and, eventually, pushing an officer.

Then a yelling match erupted, at the end of which yet another club goer began shoving officers, police say, adding it took a dose of pepper spray to get her under control. Finally, when a friend of hers refused to leave it be and continued to yell at officers and began heading their way despite their orders to stop, they gave him a dose of the spray as well, police say.

Pierre DuBois, 20, of Boston, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Harrison Nwabude, 27, of Randolph, was charged with disorderly conduct, affray and resisting arrest. Richard Nerese, 26, of Randolph, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. Kellei Estwick, 27, of Randolph, was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. Bernard Paul, 27, of Boston, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
