Homeless man in Yankees cap charged with threatening guy with knife at South Station
MBTA Transit Police report arresting a guy they say threatened a man at the South Station bus terminal with a knife around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.
According to a Transit Police report, the man was waiting for his girlfriend:
When she arrived, he noticed a Hispanic male "checking her out" and making sexually suggestive comments to her like, "hey mommy are you free". According to the victim, the suspect walked up to him and asked if she was his girl or was she working. he took offense to the comment and told the suspect that she was his wife to be and he should leave them alone.
According to the victim, the suspect then took out a silver knife and brandished the weapon toward him and stated he was a Latin King and was not to be messed with or he would "stab him up". He stated he heard the knife make a distinctive click prior to being displayed therefore he believed the knife to be a switch blade style knife. The couple then fled the scene down Atlantic Avenue toward the South Station Commuter Rail entrance.
An officer investigating the assault by a Yankees-cap wearing Boucher ran into another officer who said he'd just broken up a fight near the Sagarino's liquor store on South Street involving a guy who matched Boucher's description. Officers eventually found Boucher sitting in front of the bus terminal. He was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, although police said he no longer had a knife by the time they caught up with him.
Police say he told officers he was living in a tent at Occupy Boston in Dewey Square. However, one Occupy Boston organizer said she has never seen the guy before.
Innocent, etc.
