Fight outside Columbia Point hotel leaves one dead, one in the hospital

Boston Police report a large party in a room at the Doubletree Hotel on Mt. Vernon Street early Saturday spilled into the street outside and ended with two men stabbed, one fatally.
Police have yet to make any arrests for the stabbings, which happened around 2:35 a.m., but Capt. John Greland at C-6 says there is "a very active investigation."

In the mid-90s, more out of desperation to find an apartment in Boston's insane-o rental market than an actual decision, I lived for a few years in an apartment at Harbor Point. I gotta say, the apartment I shared was pretty nice. While I was living there, I think that there was a change in management personnel, combined with an influx of UMass students (Seriously, UMass should just cut a deal with Corcoran to lease those apartments as dorms) and some kind of change in the overall tenant mix in the low-rise buildings. It went from a place where you felt OK walking around to a place where it started to feel a little sketchy, especially at night.
Wonder what the place is like now. There was some plan to expand the apartment complex with additional buildings, but I don't know if that ever happened.

Yeah I think it's tied to the stabbing that happened in December and there was a stabbing in Hartford ct the other day which might be connected as well.
