Police investigate two armed muggings in the South End
UPDATE: Three teens arrested for at least one of the attacks.
Stanley Staco reports a woman was held up at gunpoint at W. Newton and Tremont streets around 9:45 p.m. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, with a black gun.
Around 10:10 p.m. another woman was menaced by three men in black masks and hoodies, one with a box cutter and one with what appeared to be a silver handgun, on W. Newton Street by Titus Sparrow Park. They ran off without taking anything.
A third woman reports she was approached around the same time by two guys at Columbus and W. Newton who demanded money, but she wasn't having any of it:
I screamed like hell and they ran off. They looked a bit like some high school students I deal with and I was so not in the mood after a lovely dinner.
