Man shot in Dorchester; not long after, three arrested on gun charges nearby

Boston Police report a man was shot at Bowdoin Avenue and Eldon Street around 4:55 p.m. on Sunday.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries not believed life threatening, police say. During the investigation, officers spotted "a suspicious vehicle" around the corner on Mt. Bowdoin Terrace, police say.

All three occupants - Asha Toombs, 22, Marquise Rivera, 29, and Anthony Rivera, 27, all of Dorchester - were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition after officers found "a loaded .45 caliber Pistola Automatica handgun wedged in a seat back pocket," police say - adding the three were ordered out of the car after officers discovered Toombs was wanted on a warrant for larceny by check over $250.

Police say they are still investigating whether the three had anything to do with the shooting.

Innocent, etc.
