Person shot in Mattapan; three arrested

A person was shot around 3:32 a.m. today at 156 Standard St., Boston Police report.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police say.

Not long after the shooting, SWAT officers spotted the blue BMW X5 SUV that had been reported fleeing from the scene at Blue Hill Avenue and Columbia Road.

Officers surrounded the car and ordered its three occupants out: The 17-year-old driver, not named because of his age, Jaury Pimentel, 18, of Rxobury and Kevin Mejia, 19, of Dorchester. Officers recovered a .357 Magnum revolver, which police say was just lying on the floor of the car.

The firearm contained no bullets, however, officers later recovered six spent shell casings from the juvenile suspect which he had attempted to discard. Officers also learned that he did not possess a valid driver’s license.

The teen driver was charged with being delinquent for assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and driving without a license.
