School kids fighting on the T happens every day. Why the transit police can't patrol the stations and ride trains or buses for one hour during these schoolbreaks is a shame.

Otherwise, there'll be more and more kids on the T seriously injuring and/or killing each other.

You have been reporting this, right? Because the T won't change things unless you can push their nose in the every day of it with logged reports.

Who are you, the girl from Planet Clare? This is the MBTA we're talking about. One of the most dysfunctional and corrupt institutions in the Commonwealth. If you see something, too bad. Someone placed a dummy in the booth.

Your point is?

Do you work for the T and have special knowledge of satanic meanderings and stuff or something?

The fact is that the MBTA cannot act on these things just because "everybody knows". Bureaucracies live off of paper trails. Make one.

They are getting defensive because “every day” is pure hyperbole.

Forest Hills used to get rambunctious because seemingly almost every school kid in Boston passed through it twice a day, so Transit Police we’re deployed every afternoon. I would imagine the EHS kids heading to Green Street after school are no worse than most high schoolers. I cannot recall another incident like this at Green Street in recent times.

when HS kids going to and from school, which is a huge chunk of a weekday. Almost unusable for any sane adult.

Although I will say this: I'd still prefer most of these kids as opposed to young female college students on the green and red lines. They could use orientation on how to not talk LOUDLY and endlessly on subway trains.Oddly enough, HS boys of any background, ethnicity, skin color/race tend to be pretty quiet by comparison. That is until some HS girls show up. Then, within 1-2 minutes, they'll be screaming, swearing and loud non-stop laughing/giggling.

But at JFK/UMass, I head to work most days around 2:30-3 pm. I am constantly aware of all the knucklehead high school boys and girls being insufferable twats. They think the train cars are the cafeteria and huddle in their cliques. I’ve seen boys from BC High treat the Red Line cars like the 2 train on the MTA (see: parkour) Jumping all over bannisters and poles, they all look identical in their yeezys, skinny khakis and hoodies. The girls are no better. Absorbed into their phones obsessively aiming for streaks on Snapchat. I’ve caught two of them now taking an off center selfie getting a photo of myself in it. They are absolutely mortified when I tell them to delete that. I’ve come close to snapping their blessed iPhone right out of their hands.

End rant.

TL;DR: kids these days! Get off my damn lawn!

BC High is an all male school, so those girls aren’t their classmates.

That said, it sounds like the students haven’t changed much since I was there in the 80s.

Kids in on MTA in NYC are busting profession dance and gymnastic moves, earning a few dollars, and are entertaining people. The show is a combination of art and initiative, tourists and locals both love it. I have not seen this in Boston, most certainly not on the redline!!

As for high school students in Boston, well they are kids, let them be, a cubicle is waiting to destroy their soul someday too.

Who said the victim was a H.S students? 19 is a little old to be in H.S.

Your solution is "good" and "quick". However, it's certainly not cheap!

I’ll be the broken record. The T has had a longstanding record of the worst ratio of riders to cops of any transit authority. I heard the Transit Police stopped letting their officers transfer to other civil service departments as a solution to insufficient staffing. They’re currently trapping people in instead of actually creating a department worth working for. Plus, how much are we willing to pay for increased staffing?
