Convicted drug dealer, second man arrested on drug, gun charges in Dorchester, police say

Boston Police report the arrest of a convicted drug dealer and another man on drug and gun charges by officers executing a search warrant on Monadnock Road in Dorchester yesterday morning.

Police say drug-unit officers with a search warrant arrested Tony Burt, 52, of 49 Monadnock Rd. around 10:30 a.m. after they found "a loaded silver Ruger SP101 .38 revolver, a safe containing scales, bagging materials, razor’s, boxes of baggies and a large amount of US Currency."

Burt was one of 17 men arrested in a gang crackdown last year on an indictment for distributing cocaine, with four prior similar convictions on his record.

Police say that as the officers continued to search his residence yesterday, a second man showed up:

Brett Parham, 41 of Dorchester, entered the front door of the residence but upon seeing the officers, he attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended. Recovered from Parham was Benelli Armi 9mm, various loose pills, plastic baggies containing pills, and a large amount of US Currency.

Burt was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of Class A drugs with intent to distribute and possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute, police say.

Parham was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute and possession of Class E drugs, police say.
