Suspect arrested for daytime shooting in Fields Corner on Dec. 31

Boston Police report arresting a South Boston man yesterday on charges he shot another man on Dorchester Avenue at Adams Street around 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Police charge Yusuf Mohamed, 19, was trying to kill his victim, but the man survived.

Police say officers, assisted by a K-9 unit and Boston Housing Police, arrested Mohamed at 4 Orton Marotta Way last night.

Officers executed a search warrant which led to the recovery of a 5.7 caliber FN Herstal handgun as well as a loaded .380 caliber Ruger LCP handgun with a laser sight.

Mohamed was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.

I've seen the BPD arrest people with .380 Rugers with laser sights at least 3 times in the last month. There must be someone that is bringing all these up here.

Also great to see we're still paying to house this looser after his first gun conviction, now were stuck paying for him indefinitely.

Nitpicking a bit, but on the main crime index page, this article is dated 12/31/19 instead of '18, causing this article to appear at the top of the page even when new stories are posted. Just thought you should know!
