Teens face gun, drug charges after traffic stop in Newmarket Square

Boston Police report officers who pulled four teens out of a car on Mass. Ave. in Newmarket Square early this morning because a license check showed it to be stolen added gun and drug charges after finding a loaded gun and "a large plastic bag" filled with smaller bags of crack.

Police say officers on patrol shortly before 1 a.m. checked the registration of a car on Mass. Ave. inbound, just past the Fire Department headquarters and found it had been identified as stolen.

Officers stopped the vehicle and removed the operator and the front seat passenger, both identified as 17-year-old males from Jamaica Plain, as well as the two rear seat passengers, Keyon Roberson, 18, of Dorchester and Ivan Andujar, 19, of Dorchester. All parties were placed in custody without incident. Prior to towing the recovered motor vehicle, officers located and seized a loaded .380 caliber Ruger LCP firearm and large plastic bag containing several smaller plastic bags of crack cocaine.

Roberson and Andujar were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute and receiving stolen property - the car. The two 17-year-olds, too young to have their names reported, were charged with the juvenile equivalents.

Innocent, etc.
