North End neighbors rally around homeless Prado musician who had his violin stolen at knifepoint

NorthEndWaterfont.com reports North Enders have set up a GoFundMe page for Nico, who played violin on the Prado behind the Paul Revere statue until thieves stole his violin - by cutting the ties he used to keep it connected to him as he slept.

...in a long time, and Trump is our president. Just...wow. So many things wrong here. ANOTHER homeless musician, thieves stealing violins...as if there is a teeming market for them (might keep them high for like 3 days), and residents raising money...FOR ANOTHER VIOLIN. How bout we try and get the guy a place to stay? No? Anyone?

Nice gesture. Boston needs to actually end homelessness. I'm not sure what else will keep the replacement violin from being stolen as well.

Stealing from a homeless man who earns spare change by bringing happiness to neighbors and strangers through his music. How low can you go?!
Hope these addict scum are caught and return this man's treasued family violin.

Thanks for posting this story, Adam.

bringing happiness to people is the lowest thing that a person can do to another human being. The thieves who stole his precious violin are scum who should not only be forced to return this man's treasured family violin, and be put behind bars for a long time.

If the homeless can't easily get housing in this city, can we at least provide a free place to lock up their valuables so they can fucking sleep?

Luggage lockers at bus and train stations were taken away due to potential bomb threats.
Checking baggage doesn't happen without a ticket and ID.

But there are personal storage businesses for about $6 day storage.
Free storage means making friends to do you a favor.

How does Europe manage to have luggage lockers at every train and bus station? Unfortunately they're no stranger to terrorism.

One of the neighbors should’ve offered to store it at their apartment at night, what do you expect to happen in a dangerous city at night, of course it’ll be stolen.

Too bad that there are no public safes where valuables, such as a violin can be stored at night, to prevent theft or worse.
