Police: Possibly drunk guy flashes BB gun in pizza place, convenience store on State Street

Boston Police report arresting a Chelsea man who displayed a realistic looking BB gun inside Crush Pizza and 7-Eleven on State Street last night.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call found Sharmake Ibrahim, 32, outside the 7-Eleven around 9:20 p.m. with "an item with significantly similar characteristics of a firearm within the suspect’s waistband."

According to police:

Officers then spoke with the caller who stated the suspect had entered the restaurant at 107 State Street, approached the glass partition in which the victim was standing behind, and displayed a black firearm. An additional victim approached officers and stated that the suspect had entered 103 State Street, removed a firearm from his waistband, placing the victim as well as customers in significant fear. Both victims claimed the suspect had appeared to be intoxicated.

Police say the gun was a Crosman replica 1911 BB gun.

Ibrahim was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct, police say.
