Police: Man was riding around Mattapan with a gun loaded with 16 rounds

Boston Police report that when officers pulled over an SUV driver in Mattapan for blowing past a stop sign at West Selden Street and Woodale Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday, the front-seat passenger got out and ran away.
Police say other officers responding to a radio call with a description of the runner found Wesnerson Augustin, 21, of Roxbury, hiding behind a building a couple blocks away on Delhi Street.
BPD K-9 Units responded to the scene, searched the area and recovered a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm with a large capacity feeding device with 16 rounds in the magazine.
Augustin was charged with unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a large-capacity feeding device, police say.

Maybe it's time to question why so many people are driving around with loaded guns instead of cheering every time someone gets caught.

Agree, I'd love to know why. Also, who is supplying the guns? And ammo? And who is grinding off the serial numbers? Very good questions.
But I'm STILL glad they're being caught. And can only imagine how many more illegal guns are in how many more wastebands & car consoles driving around right now.

How would you know who’s cheering or not? The police certainly aren’t protecting these young men and kids that are getting shot left n right. So they have to protect themselves. How about let’s ask why so many young people are in situations where they have to have a gun. Change the conditions and everything else will follow
