Man charged with permanently blinding elderly man in one eye in violent Mattapan robbery
Boston Police report arresting Willis McGhee, 50, on charges he punched and kicked a 72-year-old man in a robbery at 30 Fremont St., off Babson Street in Mattapan, around 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 10.
Police say McGhee attacked the man, who was already legally blind, so violently that doctors say he has now lost all sight in his left eye.
Police say officers who conducted a traffic stop at Tesla Street and Edgewater Drive around 10:10 p.m. last night, identified McGhee as the passenger. After an interview at the B-3 station, McGhee was charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery behind a person over 60, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon - shod foot - and mayhem, police say.
Innocent, etc.

This is so awful
OMG how brutal! Is there a Go Fund Me account to help this elderly man who was so viciously attacked ?
Update
Hello , I am the victims daughter .
We have an update - my father has to have additional surgery to now remove his eye , as it’s infected , and is threatening damage to his brain if not removed immediately.
He is now having to adapt to losing his sight , his freedom of being independent, and having his safety violated in such a horrific , brutal way .
We have set up a go fund me for him as of recently to cover his medical expenses , as well as looking for safer housing for him .
Thank you !
