Man shot on Norton Street in Dorchester; suspect arrested

Boston Police report a man was shot outside 34 Norton St. in Dorchester around 9:15 p.m. on Friday.

The victim survived. Police say that on Monday afternoon, they arrested Elzo Lopes, 29, of Dorchester, at a Brockton home on charges of assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm (third and subsequent offense) and discharging a firearm withing 500 feet of a dwelling.

The shooting was about 50 minutes before another person was shot in the head about a half mile away on East Street in Dorchester.
