Teen arrested after firing gun in Jackson Square, police say

Boston Police report arresting a 17-year-old from Hyde Park after he allegedly fired a gun outside the Jackson Square T station Friday night.

Police say officers responded to a report of gunfire around 10:45 p.m.

On arrival, officers observed a juvenile matching the given description fleeing the area on foot. Upon stopping the suspect, the officers safely recovered a firearm from the suspect’s coat pocket which was later determined to be a .38 Special Colt revolver loaded with three rounds of live ammunition as well as two spent shell casings in the cylinder.

The teen, too young to have his name released, was charged with being delinquent for discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Yesterday, police arrested another Hyde Park teen after he allegedly showed up at the Dearborn STEM Academy in Roxbury with a loaded gun.
