Man chased people around with a hunting knife on Park Plaza, police say

Boston Police report arresting a man they say was chasing people around the area of the Transportation Building on Park Plaza with a hunting knife around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police found John Madej, 51, of South Boston at Boylston and Charles streets after he had taken a break to check out the garbage in front of P.F. Chang's.

As officers approached the suspect, he took up a fighting stance. Officers were able to quickly apprehend the suspect, and recovered a hunting knife from his front right pants’ pocket.

Madej is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court today on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon, according to court records. Police say he also had a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.

There was a lovely couple smacked out of their gourds at Chadwick Lead Works on High Street this morning at 8. Trash strewn about and a lovely smell.

Now someone is playing with knives near the Common at lunch time.

Now do you know why a lot of people aren't coming back to the office?

I tolerate the lunacy only because I have worked downtown for decades, but if downtown drives tax revenue which gives you a city sponsored puppet show in JP, what if a lot more people decide that perhaps a sub from Crow Point Pizza in Hingham for lunch than getting knifed on your way to a place on Boylston Street is better? No more puppet shows and less cops, less bike lanes, less of everything.

Yes, because they got a taste of life without a hellish commute on either traffic-choked highways or a crumbling public transit system, neither of which will be fixed by shifting more money to increase police overtime.

People aren't going back to the office because a lot of them have no reason to go back.

People whose jobs really have to be done in person have already gone back, if they ever left--but you don't go to Downtown Crossing for car repairs or to get your teeth cleaned.

The people who don't want to return to offices in Downtown Crossing aren't clamoring for in-person jobs in suburban office parks either.

As a manager who is hiring for two positions that the posting clearly says "in our Somerville office".. its amazing how many people apply and still ask "can I work remotely".

There's a "quality of life" downtown, and, to a degree, Boston, Metro Boston, Massachusetts, and the United States as a whole? There's an unbelievable level of drama caused by politics, extremist ideologies(left&right), masses of obviously mentally ill and drug addicted homeless, violence , random street crime. Cost of living. If I didn't know better, I'd say it's all allowed, deliberate, in order to cause chaos and societal collapse.We are being sadistically gaslighted. Don't believe your lying eyes.
