A Malden man who followed a woman to her South End home then tried to rob her at her door stabbed her husband repeatedly, only to get stabbed himself before he fled yesterday afternoon, police say.
Police that shortly before 5:30 p.m., Kejaun Latney, 26, of Malden, began following a woman to her home on Warren Avenue near West Canton Street, where he "grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. "
Police say the victim's husband intervened and the two men began to fight. Latney stabbed the husband several times; after police arrived, he was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.
Police say arriving officers found Latney about a half block away, on the other side of West Canton Street, where he put up a fight before being subdued. Police say he had "visible blood on his hands," his own non-life-threatening stab wound and "a 5-inch steak knife in his sweatshirt pocket." EMS eventually ferried him, under police guard, to a local hospital for treatment.
Latney was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court today on charges of assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and assault and battery, court records show. Judge Paul Treseler ordered him held without bail at least pending a dangerousness hearing on Feb. 7, record show.
Innocent, etc.

He was arrested in Cambridge in October for skipping out on warrants.
I'll bet the Malden address is a shelter because Cambridge has him as unhoused as of October.
He has a long record and has been unuseful to society for a while.
Don't follow people, especially women, assault them, and try to rob them.
Don't stab people.
I follow this advice daily, so should everyone else.
