Forest Hills became the end of the line in more ways than one for one Orange Line train. Also, a Mattapan trolley exhaled its last at Ashmont. The T reports both lines are now moving again.

It's buses between Ashmont and JFK/UMass because of track ish at Savin Hill.

UPDATE, Monday, 7:20 a.m.
Boston Police report a man shot on Bailey Street at Dorchester Avenue Saturday evening died.
The man was shot shortly before 6 p.m., police say. He appeared at the Carney Hospital with another man, also bleeding. That man was treated and released for a laceration. The more seriously injured man, shot to the chest, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died, police say.

A man walking to the Ashmont T stop on Bailey Street around 5 a.m. Wednesday was shot by somebody who first demanded his phone and wallet, according to a posting by C-11 police on a neighborhood mailing list. Read more.

A man already in prison for violating conditions of probation on a gun charge is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow on charges he shot Julien Printemps of Mattapan to death on Jan. 26, 2014 outside the Tedeschi shop on Dorchester Avenue, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report. The Boston Home, which provides treatment for people with advanced neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, wants to build a 39-unit apartment building on its property at 2049 Dorchester Ave.

The BRA board of directors today approved a six-story esidential building with 81 units on Dorchester Avenue, across from the Carruth and the Ashmont T station.
The building, which will also have ground-level retail space, will have 53 units marketed as affordable on what is now the home of Ashmont Tire, under plans by developer Trinity Financial. The project will have 44 parking spaces and storage space for 81 bicycles.

Boston Police report they are looking for a 50-something man who tried holding up the Eastern Bank branch at 1906 Dorchester Ave. on Jan. 9.
Police say the man gave a teller a note demanding money, but then took it back and left without any money.

Two teens who robbed two women - and pistol whipped one of them - near Ashmont station early this morning were arrested not long after when police activated the tracking app on one of the phones.

A man was shot around 6:30 p.m. outside the station and in front of the Dunkin' Donuts across the street. A suspect was arrested not long after on Wrentham Street.
Police report the victim, 19, was shot in the stomach. Police say he is in serious but stable condition at a local hospital.

Edrie reports that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., her green, 1963 Vespa got lifted from where it was locked outside her house near the Ashmont T stop. Not only was it chained to a post, it had had its spark plugs taken out, so whoever took it couldn't just drive it away.
I made the police report right after I found it missing, but they think it quite unlikely to ever be recovered as they are usually broken down and sold for parts/scrap.

WHDH reports an MBTA inspector is charged with having sex at Ashmont station while on duty yesterday.
The woman whom he was allegedly inspecting in his T vehicle denied she was a prostitute but allowed as how "she needed money for her hair," WHDH reports.

Augusta "Gus" Mims, 20, who was fatally stabbed early on March 1 at 744 Washington St., also leaves his parents, five brothers and a sister.
A viewing at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1257 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
