Boston Police report a man shot on Bailey Street at Dorchester Avenue Saturday evening died.
The man was shot shortly before 6 p.m., police say. He appeared at the Carney Hospital with another man, also bleeding. That man was treated and released for a laceration. The more seriously injured man, shot to the chest, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died, police say.
A man walking to the Ashmont T stop on Bailey Street around 5 a.m. Wednesday was shot by somebody who first demanded his phone and wallet, according to a posting by C-11 police on a neighborhood mailing list. Read more.
A man already in prison for violating conditions of probation on a gun charge is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow on charges he shot Julien Printemps of Mattapan to death on Jan. 26, 2014 outside the Tedeschi shop on Dorchester Avenue, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report. The Boston Home, which provides treatment for people with advanced neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, wants to build a 39-unit apartment building on its property at 2049 Dorchester Ave.
The BRA board of directors today approved a six-story esidential building with 81 units on Dorchester Avenue, across from the Carruth and the Ashmont T station.
The building, which will also have ground-level retail space, will have 53 units marketed as affordable on what is now the home of Ashmont Tire, under plans by developer Trinity Financial. The project will have 44 parking spaces and storage space for 81 bicycles.
