Boston Police report arresting a 14-year-old on Friday for robbing a 13-year-old of his bicycle on Centre Street in front of the Jackson Square Stop & Shop on Tuesday after officers spotted him riding the distinctive red-and-black bike a few blocks away on Mozart Street at Chestnut Avenue. The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved a proposal by Urban Edge Housing Corp. for a six-story apartment building in which all the units would be rented as affordable, at 1599 Columbus Ave., just south of Centre Street. Read more.
Transit Police report they are looking for a man they say indecently attacked a woman around 2:30 pm. on Aug. 9 at Jackson Square - and was spotted leaving the train at Forest Hills and boarding a 30 bus.

Work has started to revive the World's Fair that was an annual street festival along Centre Street in Jamaica Plain until it just disappeared after 2008. Now dubbed the Latin Quarter World's Fair, in honor of the designation of the area from Hyde Square to Jackson Square, it's scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15. Boston firefighters responded around 8:50 p.m. to 279 Centre St. for a fire in an apartment on the fourth floor of an eight-story Hailey Apartments building. The sprinklers turned on and firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire.
Mooyah, next to the Jackson Square T stop, looks to be an Ex-yah now. Not only was it closed this afternoon, it's been stricken from the Mooyah Web site.
